Enrolment Information

Ballarat Diocesan Catholic Schools and Colleges embrace the mission of the Church by welcoming the enrolment of all students and families who want to experience our hospitality.

Application for enrolment of your child at St. Joseph’s Primary School means that you are choosing a Catholic Education, which requires a commitment to support the vision and aims of St. Joseph’s Primary School and a willingness to co-operate in their implementation.

If you are from an existing family or you have definitely decided to enrol at St Joseph's we have a link to our Application for Enrolment.  This is an easily downloadable form that can be filled out directly on the computer.  We are accepting enrolments for next year now.

When you enrol at St Joseph's, personal information will be held, used and disclosed in accordance with the school's Privacy Policy and Procedures, we have included a link to those documents below:

Open Day - School Visits or Tours

All interested parents and guardians are invited to contact the school to arrange a time to visit or arrange for someone to talk to you over the phone about our school programs or facilities. 
Our Open Day this year is held on May 23 with tours being conducted throughout the day.   An additional Open Day will be held in August. You can make a booking to attend one of our school tours by contacting the school on 50241654.  If you can not attend on this day we are very happy for you contact the office and organise a personalised tour at time of your preference.

Early Age

  1. By law, children must have turned five by the 30th of April in their Foundation year of schooling.
  2. Enrolment of Children under the minimum school starting age is not recommended and special permission must be obtained from the Director of Catholic Education Ballarat.  ​

Procedures for Enrolment

  1. Applications for enrolment are called for.
  2. Application for Enrolment is made through St. Joseph’s Primary School Office.
  3. Parents/Guardians of children beginning school the following year will be invited to a meeting.
  4. ​Letters of an enrolment placement offered at St. Joseph’s Primary School.​
  5. Foundation students will participate in an Orientation Program prior to commencing at St. Joseph’s Primary School.   

Students Transferring from another School

If parents are wanting to move from another school we encourage you to contact the school to discuss this request.
